Q&A Tester Print

 

The Microsoft Research – University of Trento Centre for Computational and Systems Biology (CoSBi) invites applications for 1 Q&A Tester position.

The ideal candidate has a MSc (laurea magistrale) in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or a BSc (laurea triennale) and previous work experience as a tester.
The candidate must have knowledge of the basic principles of testing (unit and functional testing, triaging, automated testing), good programming skills and working experience with at least one design test management application or automated test framework.

Good autonomy, strong collaborative skills and ability to work and communicate in a team-based working environment are also a must.

Past experience of team working, knowledge of Visual Studio and of .NET Framework tools are a plus.

The role of the candidate will be to assess the quality of CoSBiLab.

In particular, the Q&A Tester will:

- Set-up (and keep running) a valid test infrastructure (automated tests, test toolboxes etc.) in collaboration with CoSBi's IT Assistant
- Write automated tests for automated runs, keep them running with no failures
- Review the developers' unit-tests, assessing their quality
- Help in writing Test plans and Test cases: he/she will sign-off test cases, providing examples and making them easy to follow
- Do functional testing features, UI, scenarios and file bugs in our Track system
- Revise bugs posted by users, providing a minimum number of instructions to reproduce, requesting feedback when needed
- Report bugs to the Development Manager and to the Developers Team during triages.


The duration of the position is negotiable, up to a maximum of three years, and is renewable. The winning candidate must move to Trento and formally change his/her residency. The gross salary range is between 20.000 and 35.000 euro per year depending on CV, experience and fitting relative to ongoing activities. We offer special conditions on the bank account and a lunch contribution of 4,65 euro per day. We can provide and cover housing in university structures for the first six weeks after the relocation in Trento.

 

The Centre will provide a shared office with the standard hardware and software equipment, access to our High Performance Computing facilities and to the University of Trento's libraries. Money to travel for purposes related to the mission of the Centre is available. Pre-existing collaborations can be maintained provided they are made synergic with the work of CoSBi.
