Main activities

The main activities of this department include the development of collaborative research projects with life scientists and industrial partners that will lead to publications and will co-fund the research activities at COSBI. We will apply algorithmic systems biology to the following: targeting discovery; to the creation of a solid base of knowledge in crucial aspects of pharmacological science, such as toxicology, toxicogenomics, and pharmacogenomics; to the development of an environment where it is possible to study how specific drugs react to specific cellular situations, and where to perform in silico clinical trials; to ecological modeling and to diet optimization for health and sustainability. We will act mainly in the pharma, biotech and agrifood industry sectors, with specific focus on molecular and cell biology, pharmacology, translational medicine, molecular nutrition and ecology.
