Production of new knowledge will be an asset of competitiveness in the global scenario. Indeed, moving from the material society to the knowledge one, as strongly supported by Europe, we will assist at a drastic mutation of companies' business models in many applicative domains. The most affected will be life sciences, biotech and pharma industries due to the new facilities provided by information technology.

All of the above call for highly interdisciplinary groups joining competencies from different sciences. We mainly focus on the dynamics of biological systems in the -omics era by providing techniques from the computer science area of programming languages to model, analyze and simulate complex systems. This is in line with the recent paradigmatic shift in biology towards a systemic view.

We hope to bring together researchers from different fields as well as people from industries to start building a critical mass pushing forward this new and exciting research field that has high potential in terms of impact on society, quality of life and environmental protection.

Objective
The main goal of this scientific opening is to have presentations from researchers working in fields related to the activities of the center to stimulate discussions. The interaction is meant to explore potential concrete collaborations with researchers and institutions that share our aims and goals. To facilitate potential project definition, the format will be very informal and the presentation of ongoing current work or ideas is highly encouraged.
