European Journal of Neurology: Multivariate Survival Analysis of a Comprehensive Clinical Trial of Rapamycin in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Explores Prognostic Factors and Survival Patterns in C9orf72 Carriers

“I’m happy to share that our work on survival analysis of an amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) clinical trial cohort has been published in the European Journal of Neurology!
This project has been especially meaningful to me. It taught me how to approach survival analysis with high-dimensional data and time-varying covariates, while handling missing data in a principled way. Our findings also show how a trial with an overall negative result can still generate clinically relevant hypotheses. In particular, we observed a potential protective effect of rapamycin in C9orf72-positive ALS patients.
