This week’s internal seminar at COSBI featured Lorena Leonardelli, who presented her current research activities and new initiatives bridging science and collaboration.
Lorena shared her work on Chronic Intestinal Pseudo-Obstruction (CIPO), a rare and complex gastrointestinal disorder. Her project focuses on expanding a Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) model to explore new therapeutic strategies that address the multifactorial mechanisms underlying the disease.
In addition to her scientific work, Lorena is also contributing to COSBI’s strategic and collaborative growth, participating in brokerage events to foster partnerships for upcoming Horizon Europe 2026–2027 calls. To further strengthen her communication skills, she recently completed a science communication course, enhancing her ability to represent COSBI’s mission and research to diverse audiences.
Her multidisciplinary approach — combining scientific rigor, communication, and strategy — reflects COSBI’s commitment to connecting systems biology with real-world impact.
