Parkinson’s: clinical and biomolecular research meet
Event
As part of her work at Fondazione COSBI and the University fo Trento, Elena Righetti has developed a mathematical model that captures the intricate interplay between pure and lipid-mediated alpha-synuclein (aSyn) aggregation, a key process in the onset and development of Parkinson’s disease. This research, conducted in collaboration with Federico Reali, Enrico Domenici and Luca Marchetti, enhances our understanding of aSyn dynamics and its impact on neurodegeneration, providing a virtual lab for testing potential therapies.
Alex De Nardi is presenting the poster: “Integrative Knowledge- and Data-Driven QSP Modeling of Neurodegenerative Diseases: A Case Study Targeting ALS”. It is talking about a data driven approach to define biological processes to include in a future mechanistic model on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, using clinical trial data.
And last but certainly not least, Elio Campanile’s talk is about a multiscale physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) platform to support the development of mRNA-encoded therapeutics. This is a collaboration with Università di Trento, UniTrento CIBIO & the MACBES team from Inria, and many COSBI staff members: Elisa Pettinà, Giada Fiandaca, Lorena Leonardelli, Lorenzo Dasti, Stefano Giampiccolo & Luca Marchetti.
Stay tuned!
