Advancing mechanistic modeling for neurodegeneration research

COSBI is proud to congratulate Elena Righetti on the successful defense of her PhD thesis titled “Mechanistic modeling of alpha-synuclein aggregation and brain pharmacokinetics for drug development in neurodegeneration.”

Elena completed her doctoral work under the supervision of Enrico Domenici and Federico Reali, in collaboration with the University of Trento (CIBIO) and the MMSB group at Universität Potsdam, hosted by Wilhelm Huisinga. Her thesis focused on developing mechanistic and pharmacokinetic models to better understand alpha-synuclein dynamics and support therapeutic development for neurodegenerative diseases.

We congratulate Elena on this important milestone and are pleased to share that she is continuing her research at COSBI, where she now applies Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) and PBPK modeling to brain disorders and other complex diseases.

We look forward to the valuable contributions she will continue to bring to COSBI’s research efforts.
