Edoardo Meneghini’s Journey at COSBI

Edoardo Meneghini joined COSBI as a Master’s thesis intern in August 2024, during the final stage of his studies in Computer Science at the University of Trento, where he graduated with highest honors (110/110 cum laude) in March 2025.

As part of the Systems Biology team, Edoardo developed a computational workflow for drug repurposing in Parkinson’s Disease, applying his computer science background to address biological and medical questions through data-driven approaches.

“As a computer scientist, I was looking for a way to use my skills to do something meaningful,” Edoardo recalls. “At COSBI, I discovered how computational models can directly contribute to improving human health.”

Throughout his internship, Edoardo experienced the rigor and collaborative nature of research at COSBI — from ensuring data reproducibility to critically verifying every source and result. This experience not only deepened his technical knowledge but also helped him reflect on his professional path.

“I realized that while I admire research, I’m more of a horizontal person — I like exploring multiple topics and bridging disciplines,” he explains. “That awareness was one of the most valuable takeaways from my time at COSBI.”

After completing his thesis, Edoardo co-founded a HealthTech startup focused on solving health data fragmentation, aiming to improve how users and professionals access and manage healthcare information. His work now combines technology, innovation, and human-centered design — a natural continuation of his curiosity for impactful applications of computer science.

“COSBI is a unique mix of research, industry, and science communication,” Edoardo says. “It’s an ideal environment for students who want to grow, learn, and understand how science can connect with the real world.”
