Continuous learning is a key component of innovation. As part of COSBI’s commitment to professional development and knowledge sharing, Lorena Leonardelli recently presented the main insights gained from a training program focused on international marketing, trade fairs and digital export.
The internal seminar explored how concepts traditionally associated with business development can be successfully adapted to the research environment. The discussion focused on topics such as scientific visibility, conference and networking strategies, international collaborations, scientific storytelling and digital communication for research organizations.
A central message emerged from the presentation: scientific excellence alone is not always sufficient to maximize impact. Visibility, strategic networking and effective communication can significantly amplify the reach of scientific research, fostering new collaborations, attracting talent and creating opportunities for knowledge transfer.
The seminar also highlighted practical approaches that research organizations can adopt, including structured conference participation, systematic follow-up of professional contacts, stronger digital engagement and the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts through accessible and impactful narratives.
The discussion that followed involved researchers from across COSBI and generated valuable reflections on how to further strengthen the institute’s international positioning while maintaining its scientific rigor and interdisciplinary identity.
At COSBI, investing in the growth of our people and encouraging the sharing of newly acquired knowledge are essential elements of our culture. By combining scientific excellence with continuous learning and effective communication, we aim to maximize the impact of our research and contribute to the advancement of computational biology, systems biology and translational science.
