At COSBI, we believe that scientific excellence starts with people.

High-quality research is driven not only by scientific expertise, but also by an environment where researchers are encouraged to grow, share ideas, and continuously develop their skills. For this reason, COSBI has introduced a new corporate welfare programme, adding another element to a broader commitment to supporting the professional well-being of our team.

The new welfare initiative recognizes both individual and collective achievements through a system of employee benefits, reinforcing the value of collaboration and shared success.

This programme complements a number of initiatives that have been introduced over the years to foster participation, professional development, and continuous improvement across the institute.

Among them are the Improvement Box, where staff members can anonymously submit ideas and suggestions to improve the working environment, and regular one-to-one meetings between researchers and Group Leaders. These discussions support individual professional growth while aligning personal aspirations with COSBI’s long-term scientific vision.

Continuous learning also remains a key priority. Researchers are encouraged to propose training opportunities based on their interests and career goals, while institute-wide initiatives are regularly organized to strengthen both scientific and transferable skills. Upcoming activities will include dedicated training on science communication and public speaking, helping researchers communicate complex scientific concepts to a broader audience.

Building a positive research culture is an ongoing process. Every new initiative represents another step toward creating an environment where people can contribute, collaborate, and grow together while advancing innovative computational approaches for the life sciences.
