New bioRxiv Preprint from COSBI Researchers

COSBI is pleased to announce the publication of a new preprint on bioRxiv entitled
“Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic Modeling of mRNA-Encoded Therapeutics: A Multiscale Framework for LNP and Antibody Trafficking in Mice.”

The study, with Elio Campanile as first author, is the result of a collaborative effort involving COSBI researchers Elisa Pettinà, Stefano Giampiccolo, Lorena Leonardelli, and Luca Marchetti, with support from the University of Trento (CIBIO) and Fondazione COSBI.

The work presents a novel physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling framework for mRNA-encoded therapeutics, enabling the investigation of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) and antibody trafficking at the whole-body scale. This multiscale approach represents an important step forward in understanding the biodistribution and dynamics of mRNA-based therapies, with potential implications for their development and optimization.

The full preprint is available on bioRxiv at the following link.

COSBI congratulates Elio Campanile and the entire research team on this achievement and looks forward to future developments building on this work.
