Mathematical Approaches to Biological Complexity
COSBI had the pleasure of hosting Prof. Bob Planqué, systems biology expert at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and currently Visiting Professor at the University of Trento, for an engaging seminar at our research center.
During his talk, Prof. Planqué presented recent collaborative work developed together with Frank Bruggeman and Maarten Droste, illustrating how mathematical thinking can help address a wide range of biological challenges. Through four illustrative projects, he highlighted the role of quantitative methods in understanding cellular dynamics, regulatory mechanisms, and system-level behaviors in living organisms.
The seminar concluded with a lively Q&A session, giving our team the opportunity to discuss interdisciplinary perspectives in systems biology.
